InterNiche ARM Network Evaluation Kits (NEKs) are pre-integrated systems of complementary networking technologies that demonstrate and exercise the features of the ARM processor cores and the specific networking features of ARM SoC implementations targeted at different types of networking application profiles. Each NEK that we offer is a fully capable, integrated and optimized networked device application that has been tailored to the interfaces and memory configuration of the chosen hardware environment.

InterNiche makes available ARM development tool plug-in modules that are tightly integrated with the advanced browsing, windowing and debugging features of RealView. By opening OS and TCP/IP awareness windows, and clicking on the appropriate tabs, the developer has immediate debug access to every aspect of the target, including visualization of all of the RTOS and NicheStack resources including message queues, network protocol structures, high/low buffer watermarks and event flags. This ability to view critical network parameters and trace data at the application level greatly simplifies the integration of network applications and enables faster development of cutting edge network devices.

A typical ARM NEK would feature:
•High performance TCP/IPv4 stack
•DHCP or static IP configuration
•SNMP v1 network management agent
•FTP server
•Telnet server
•PPP client
•IGMP support for multicasting
•Virtual File System
•HTTP web server interface
The web server pages typically consist of static and dynamic information displays drawn from the NicheTool internal stack diagnostics and monitoring databases.

For evaluation purposes, for each of these platforms, a run-time image or library is available that has been tested for development tool compatibility and run-time interoperability with the other network and device management components.
