AMBA 3 Assured

Ensuring industry leading quality control
Viewed by many in the media and design community as the de-facto standard in on chip communication, AMBA lies at the heart of the modern System on Chip (SoC). This broad adoption has encouraged a wide range of companies to develop Electronic Design Automation (EDA) solutions tuned for AMBA.

At the request of our SoC and OEM partners ARM has developed a program to validate the quality of EDA verification solutions targeted at AMBA®. Two initiatives help ensure partners can judge the relative merits of a solution impartially:

1. AMBA® Protocol Compliance

To provide the industry with a definitive and unambiguous means to describe the AMBA specification, ARM has released the AMBA 3 Protocol Rules.

2. AMBA 3 AXI AssuredTM

At the request of the design community ARM has developed a program to validate the quality of EDA verification solutions targeted at AMBA.

The AMBA Assured program is an interactive program in which ARM and a given EDA partner work together to scrutinize the quality of applicable solutions. By performing an ARM based review, solutions marked with the AMBA 3 Assured logo have been deemed to meet quality and support targets set by ARM. Failure to maintain these standards will result in ARM removing the endorsement.

The signoff process can be highly intensive and is the result of many months, and in some cases, years of mutual effort to converge on a solution that represents the highest possible integrity.
