This download provides version 1.7 of the RealView ICE (RVI) unit firmware. N.B. In order to install this download, you must be using RVI v1.4 or later host software. Earlier versions of RVI host software (RVI v1.2 or earlier) are not compatible with this firmware update. It is strongly recommended that this firmware is only used with the RVI v3.0 or later host software installed. If you do not have version 3.0 of the RVI host software, please contact your supplier to request a full RVI 3.0 CD - for more details please see the RealView Upgrade Policy page. Alternatively, you can download RVI v3.0 software utilities (including RVI Update) directly from the ARM website here RVI v3.0 host-side software. RVI v1.4 host software can be used with this firmware download, however the v1.4 host utilities will not allow you to downgrade to a previous firmware version once the v1.7 firmware is installed. Installation Instructions In order to install this, please refer to the RVI User Guide section 'Managing the RealView ICE Software' for details of how to install the new firmware. New Features RVI v1.7 release provides the following advanced features: - Built-in support for progcards_rvi.
- Functionality to use GDB and KGDB to debug over RealView ICE.
- Support for the ARM1156T2F-S and ARM1176JZF-S processors.
- Support for the ARM968E-S and ARM968E-Srd (reduced debug) processors.
- Support for ARM11 MPCore systems.
- Support for the CEVATM CEVA-Oak, CEVA-Teak and CEVA-TeakLite DSPs.
- ETM9CSSingle and ETM11CSSingle support.
N.B. It is recommended that RVI v1.7 is only used with RealView Developer Suite (RVDS) v2.2 SP1 or later. To upgrade to the latest version of RVDS, please contact your supplier.
