Health Tracker Ring
Never has the option for in-home health monitoring been more critical to ensuring patient care and comfort.
The MegaRing, created Shanghai-based MegaHealth, is a medical pulse oximeter that can be worn on a finger to continuously monitor heart rate and oxygen saturation, and detect changes that might indicate early signs of hypoxemia, or less-than-safe levels of oxygen in the blood. These metrics are especially important for patients with conditions such as sleep apnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as pregnant women and the elderly.
The MegaRing can also actively monitor and record daily sleep patterns, analyze sleep stages and duration, and provide suggestions for sleep improvement. Users can view daily, weekly, and monthly reports on these metrics, allowing them to monitor their health at home and on the go.
The MegaRing has received FDA, CE and CFDA Class II certification for use in the US, EU, and China, respectively. It has also been crowned the Red Dot Winner 2020: Best of the Best.
Featured Technology
The Bluetooth low-energy wearable ring uses an nRF52832 system on chip (SoC) for the ring’s core microcontroller, based on powerful 64-MHz, 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4F processor technology. This processor enables SpO2 signal acquisition and algorithm operation. The Nordic SoC’s 512 kB Flash memory is sufficient to easily store and record the data, while the 64 kB RAM is ample for the device’s algorithm filtering requirements.
In addition, the Nordic SoC provides low latency Bluetooth Low Energy wireless connectivity-enabling data to be periodically transmitted from the device to an individual’s Bluetooth 4.0 (and later) smartphone.
