What is Arm Automotive Enhanced?
Arm Automotive Enhanced (AE) is a dedicated portfolio of IP and technologies built to meet the rigorous performance, safety, and scalability demands of the automotive industry — and power software-defined vehicles (SDVs) in an AI-defined era.
Key Highlights:
- Automotive-Grade Compute: Built-in Safety Islands and Security Enclaves support safety-critical and AI-driven functions.
- Safety-Certified: ISO 26262 certified for ASIL B–D, supporting everything from ADAS to autonomous control.
- AI-Ready Performance: Arm Neoverse V3AE delivers top-tier AI/ML compute for real-time in-vehicle processing using Arm9.2.
- Scalable Architecture: Supports centralized, zonal, and edge compute across all vehicle domains.
- Real-Time Intelligence: Low-latency, 64-bit real-time compute is the backbone for safety-critical applications and fast, on-board AI decision-making.
Consolidated Compute in Vehicles
As vehicles become more digital and AI-driven, traditional hardware architectures are evolving. To support complex features and software-defined capabilities, manufacturers are shifting from distributed ECUs to a more centralized, zonal compute model.
Arm addresses this shift with a full-stack solution—integrating hardware and software to simplify vehicle architectures and power next-generation, AI-enabled vehicles.
New Second Generation Arm AE IP for SDV Innovations
The AE portfolio includes three Armv9 A-class CPUs, an R-class CPU, and an image signal processing core. It also includes key system IP, such as interconnect, GIC, and MMU, for a wide range of SoCs. These products enable partners to develop new devices, ranging from zonal controllers, to vision, IVI and ADAS, to autonomous.
